DCHS seeks clothing and other donations for prom store
The Dundee-Crown High School Beta Club, which is primarily a school- and community-service organization, is sponsoring the 2nd Annual prom store of formalwear and accessories at bargain prices. No item will be sold for more than $20.
Attending Prom is one of the most memorable events for high school students. Unfortunately, costs have sky-rocketed making participation impossible for some who would like to attend.
The Beta Club’s Prom Store Committee is asking for donations of new and gently used formal wear, including: dresses, shoes jewelry, purses, shawls and men’s wear. This appeal is being made to both individuals and retail businesses in the surrounding community. Donations of make-up and even “make-overs” (hair styling, manicures) would be greatly appreciated. Anyone willing to help make some dreams come true is welcome to call the Dundee-Crown Counseling Department for more information. You can reach club sponsors Judy Gard or Ann DiCosola at (847) 426-1799 or (847) 426-1498. Items may be brought to the Dundee-Crown Counseling Department now through April 2. Don’t miss this opportunity to share in making unforgettable memories come true for some high school students who wouldn’t have otherwise had the chance.
The store location is in the Counseling Complex of Dundee-Crown High School in Carpentersville. Proceeds will be used to fund next year’s store.
This year, the store has been named Kelly’s Kollection in honor of senior Kelly Lewis, who inspired and developed our original store last year. Kelly’s Kollection will open for pre-sales to Dundee-Crown students on April 3 and 4 during the “Charge It Up” block, by appointment. Students should obtain passes prior to these dates from Ms. Gard or Mrs. DiCosola in the Counseling Office. On Friday April 4, the store will open at 3 pm to any area high school student with a high school I.D. The final sales are scheduled for Saturday April 12 beginning at 11 am.
On April 12, Dundee-Crown will also host the ACT Test which will give some students a chance to shop after the testing. Again, the store will be open to any area high school student with an I.D.
